The automotive industry is one of the most important industries not only for Germany but for many other industrialized as well as developing countries. Automotive companies face three major challenges: the electrification of vehicles, globalization of the value chain activities and global competitive structures as well as changing mobility needs of customers.

The lecture will enable students to understand automotive market structures and key industry challenges. Strategies of major players in the automotive industry will be analyzed in order to identify their most important competitive strenghts.
